In commemoration of Apollo 17's final footprints on the moon and the historic achievements of America's Golden Age of Space, Winco International is proud to present "Celebrating Apollo XVII and the Golden Age of Space," a new, limited edition framed set.
Commissioned by Apollo 17 commander Capt. Eugene Cernan and authorized by NASA, the "Celebrating Apollo XVII and the Golden Age of Space" set pays tribute to the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs, and dedicates each mission and lunar footprint to those who made them possible.
The timeline and included emblems represent this historic era and highlight Mercury's first journey to space and orbit around the Earth, Gemini's first spacewalks and rendezvous, and Apollo's first lunar orbit. It also remembers Neil Armstrong as the first man on the moon, all the other lunar explorers and the splashdown of Apollo 17.
The edition-exclusive medallion and "First Footprints" emblem are minted with metal flown to the moon on Apollo missions. The edition-exclusive collage is hand-signed by Apollo 17 astronaut Gene Cernan, who left man's final footprints on the moon. The lithograph was created by NASA award-winning artist, Blake Dumesnil.
Measuring 19.75 by 23.75 inches (50.17 by 60.32 centimeters) framed, "Celebrating Apollo XVII and the Golden Age of Space" is limited to 1,972 pieces. A numbered Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is included with each frame.
